Benefits Of
Trauma Informed Massage

Undertaking massage in this sector

requires a niche combination of skills.

  • A wide range of massage skills to tailor the treatments to each client. For example, not every client feels comfortable with an oiled massage, so our qualified massage therapist is able to offer shiatsu massage where the client remains fully clothed.

  • Broad experience and knowledge of massage. Our massage therapist Ali has 20 years’ experience with a wide range of clients

  • Psychological/counselling knowledge integrated with the massage treatment. It’s critical with this massage to have a therapist that also understands trauma psychology and skills, along with an understanding around the complexities and impacts of domestic and family violence.

  • Safety/do no harm – At Ripple we hold a strong code of professional ethics as a qualified health care professional, with a focus on client safety, professional conduct, and a base ethic of do no harm.

  • One hour pamper package – Ripple offers a one hour pamper package, including a peppermint scented foot soak, massage, reflexology and hot steamed towels and nourishing face mask. The treatment it completely tailored to the client, adding, or removing elements as required.

  • Consent consultation – The treatment involves detailed consent consultation with client, with the emphasis all consent, power and control resting with the client.

  • Client details – By working in partnership with specialist domestic and family violence services, Ripple Massage provides an add-value service. As a measure of preserving client confidentiality, no client records are retained by Ripple Massage.
