If you are looking for relaxation on the Gold Coast and are wanting to add a great massage or beauty treatment to your holiday, there are a lot of day spa options.
The Gold Coast is known as being a mecca of well being and relaxation. The day spas are world class, and depending on what sort of massage you are after, there is something for every body. Literally.
Here are our top picks for day spas on the Gold Coast.
So we are starting off with this one, mainly because it is the most convenient.
If you have booked some beautiful accommodation, either a hotel or a luxury AirBNB, it makes sense to make the most of it, and have your massages in home.
Mobile massages are common, and there are quite a few companies that offer these. But we are guessing that if you are away on holidays, you are wanting the full pamper experience, not simply a one hour massage.
Ripple brings the day spa to you and operates all across the Gold Coast, the Gold Coast Hinterland and into the Scenic Rim regions away from the beaches.
We bring a full day spa menu to you, including a wide range of massage styles, including hot stone and prenatal. There are also packages exclusive to Ripple that are the chocolate day spa package or the coffee espresso spa treatment.
Ripple therapists also do mobile beauty, so manicures, pedicures, facials and body scrubs.
So if you are after a day spa experience, but don’t fancy heading out into the traffic in Surfers Paradise or trying to find a spa in an unfamiliar city, having an in hotel day spa might be a great option.
These can also be a convenient option for you if you are not wanting to travel too far. A lot of the big hotels like the Q1 and Soul in Surfers Paradise, also have day spas with extensive menus.
If you are searching around for the best one, have a look online at Trip Advisor for reviews and guest comments, as they can vary widely in quality and customer service. Some are awesome, some not so great.
If you are wanting to book in one of these, try to book at the same time you book your accommodation as they can book out early. Especially if you have a hens party or a large group of girl friends for a girls weekend pamper, it can be difficult to get in with more than a couple of treatment rooms. And be prepared for some of you to be waiting in the spa waiting room for a while, before your therapist becomes available.
Couples massages also can be popular in the hotel day spas and many will have a dual treatment room. But again book early as these can often be in high demand.
Ripple is a mobile massage and beauty business that brings the day spa to you across Australia.
The Gold Coast is also known for having world class wellness retreats like Gaia. These retreats are more suited for those who want a lot more than just a casual day spa booking.
These retreats are beautiful and offer a full range of wellness treatments, with the day spa services being a small part of these. They often focus on a whole body program, with healthy eating, yoga, meditation, exercise and massage all included. They can be quite expensive as they are live in and include full accommodation and meals and treatments, but are a great way to do a body reset.
Another option for getting a massage on the Gold Coast is one of the many smaller clinics you find in the big shopping centers.
These really don’t give the full day spa experience, but are more for those who want quick and easy beauty and massage treatments.
There is a variety of them, from the big chains like Endota and Pure Indulgence to the smaller Chinese clinics.
Sometimes these outlets can be more focused on selling you product during your massage than the massage itself. The therapists are focused on making those sales and earn commissions on them.
But some are sensational. It’s really a mixed bag, so again online reviews are a good way to see if they are what you are after.
Again there is a wide variety of day spa therapists that will set up a small room from home or work mobile on the Gold Coast.
Some of these therapists are great, highly experienced, and can provide a good option for those who are on a budget.
It is always a good idea to check the qualifications of these therapists as they can vary widely. Unfortunately in Australia, massage is not regulated, and anyone can do a short two day weekend course and start practicing as a massage therapist.
Massage is a powerful thing to do the body, and professional Australian massage therapists who are qualified to Certificate IV or Remedial Diploma standards are health care professionals.
So if you are going to a smaller day spa or clinic whilst you are here on the Gold Coast, be sure to check the qualifications of your therapist. At Ripple, all our of therapists are hand picked by us, personally interviewed, police checked, they have insurance and are qualified to minimum Certificate IV in Massage Or Beauty or to Diploma level. You can be assured that your therapist knows what they are doing!
It can also be difficult trying to get a booking with a smaller, single day spa therapist too. Often they are doing all the work in all areas of their business. So often it will take a while to get them to answer their phone as they are usually in treatments, and a lot of their websites don’t have an online booking facility.
And also if they get sick, then there is no back up for your appointment and it may get cancelled at short notice. But some are well worth the effort! In among the mix, you can find an amazing therapist that is just right for you.
These options are much more limited. There are some day spas in the more remote regions of the Gold Coast, but they tend to be few and far between. As a result, they can also get booked out quickly and are often located in holiday centers like Tamborine Mountain, Springbrook or O’Reillys Retreat.
Again, these can vary in quality, sometimes its difficult in these more remote regions for these day spas to attract high quality therapists, so check out the online reviews first.
If you are unable to find a day spa near you, especially in the Hinterland, maybe consider booking Ripple mobile therapists as an option. We are the largest operator of quality mobile day spa treatments on the Gold Coast, and unlike many other businesses, travel right across the hinterland, up to Brisbane, all the way down to Byron Bay and out to the Scenic Rim.
With Ripple, you also get the full day spa menu, not just a one hour massage. So all those pampering extras, like body scrubs, facials, clay masks, foot baths and reflexology are included complimentary in our spa packages.
Plus having operated on the Gold Coast for over 15 years, having amazing reviews on Trip Advisor and Trustpilot, and being a member of Australia’s premier massage association, you can be assured the day spa treatment you will receive from Ripple will be top quality.
So lots of options for day spas on the Gold Coast! The best one? It really depends what you are looking for. Search around, check the reviews, and book early, and take some time out to relax.

Karen was fantastic – very bubbly and friendly and we both really enjoyed our massages.
We hadn’t had a couples massage before, Karen put us at ease, she went over time and obviously really cared about her work.
