Postnatal Massage for New Mums
A Little Time for You After Baby Arrives
Those first weeks and months with a new baby can be wonderful, exhausting and very physical.

Feeding, carrying, rocking and settling a baby can mean hours spent in positions your body isn't used to. Backs, necks and shoulders can feel particularly tight, and sometimes you simply want an hour where somebody is looking after you for a change.

Ripple provides professional postnatal massage for new mums, with qualified and experienced massage therapists who come to your home or accommodation.

And because we come to you, there's no packing the baby bag, getting everyone into the car or worrying about feeding schedules.
Baby can stay right there with you. Read more about postnatal massage

Massage Tailored to How You're Feeling

There isn't one standard postnatal massage.

Some new mums want a gentle relaxation massage and an opportunity to switch off. Others want firmer remedial or deep tissue work through a tight back, neck and shoulders.

Your therapist can tailor the pressure and treatment to what feels right for you on the day.

You can choose from:

-
relaxation massage
-
remedial massage
-
deep tissue massage
-
full body massage
-
neck and shoulder massage
-
reflexology and foot massage
-
longer massage and day spa packages
If you've recently given birth, had a caesarean or experienced complications, let us know when you enquire so your therapist can appropriately adapt your treatment. If you're unsure whether massage is suitable during your recovery, check with your healthcare professional first.

Perfect When Leaving the House Feels Like Hard Work

One of the nicest things about a Ripple postnatal massage is that we come to you.

Our therapist brings the massage table, towels, oils, music and everything required for your booked treatment.

Your baby doesn't need to disappear for an hour either. If you need to stop to feed, settle or check on your baby, that's part of life with a newborn.

We understand.

Sore Back, Neck & Shoulders After Having a Baby?

This is one of the biggest reasons new mums book massage.

Feeding, carrying and repeatedly lifting a baby can leave the muscles around the neck, shoulders and upper back feeling tight and tired.

Tell your therapist where you're feeling it and how much pressure you enjoy. We can concentrate more of your treatment time on those areas while still giving you a relaxing massage elsewhere.

Make It a Little More Special

If you'd like more than a massage, choose one of Ripple's longer day spa packages.

Depending on the package, your treatment can include extras such as aromatherapy, hot steamed towels, peppermint foot soaks, face treatments, reflexology and Himalayan Pink Salt Body Exfoliation.

Sometimes a couple of hours where somebody else is doing the looking after can be a very welcome gift.

Babymoons & Baby Showers

Massage can be a lovely part of the celebrations before baby arrives too.

For a babymoon, Ripple can organise pregnancy massage and day spa treatments so you can slow down and enjoy some time together before life gets a little busier. Couples treatments can be arranged either with two therapists at the same time, subject to availability, or one after the other.

We also provide baby shower massage and pampering, from treatments for the mum-to-be to massage and day spa experiences for a whole group of friends and family.

For larger baby showers, multiple therapists may be available depending on your location, date and group size.

I had a pregnancy massage with Ali today and it was amazing.
I’m currently 34 weeks pregnant and feeling super unmotivated and uncomfortable so I was gifted a massage by family.
Her being mobile and coming to me to me was incredible, that being said it had all the trimmings, essential oils, hot towels and a really comfortable massage bed.
I’d highly recommend her to anyone who wants to be pampered in the comfort of their home or on a weekend away.

Postnatal Massage FAQs
How soon after giving birth can I have a massage?

There isn't one answer that's appropriate for every new mum.

How soon massage is suitable can depend on how you're feeling, the birth, whether you've had surgery such as a caesarean, complications and your individual recovery.

Tell us about your circumstances when you enquire. If you're unsure whether massage is appropriate for you, particularly following surgery or complications, check with your healthcare professional first.

Can I have a massage after a caesarean?

Potentially, but your treatment may need to be modified while you're recovering.

We won't massage directly over a healing surgical area. Tell us that you've had a caesarean when you enquire and, particularly during early recovery or if there have been complications, seek clearance from your healthcare professional if you're uncertain.

Can my baby be there while I have my massage?

Absolutely.

One of the advantages of having your massage at home is that your baby can stay nearby. We understand that newborns don't operate according to appointment schedules.

What if I need to feed my baby?

That's okay.

If your baby needs you, tell your therapist. We're dealing with real families rather than expecting your home to suddenly operate like a silent day spa.

What massage is best for a sore neck and shoulders from feeding or carrying my baby?

Many new mums choose remedial or deeper massage through the neck, shoulders and upper back, combined with gentler relaxation massage elsewhere.

Your therapist will talk with you about where you're feeling tight and the pressure you prefer before starting.

Can I have a full body postnatal massage?
Yes, where appropriate. Your therapist can tailor a full body massage around the areas you'd like included and anything that needs to be avoided while you're recovering.

Can someone buy a postnatal massage for me?

Yes. Ripple gift vouchers are available online and can be used towards eligible massage and day spa treatments.

Do you offer postnatal massage near me?

Ripple provides postnatal massage across Tamborine Mountain, Gold Coast, Gold Coast Hinterland, Scenic Rim, Brisbane and Northern Rivers NSW.

Our therapists come to your home or accommodation, subject to therapist availability, minimum booking times and applicable travel fees.
